Born and raised in the West of Ireland, the brothers Séamus and Mícheál Barceló started playing music at a very young age, adventuring many styles of music.
They soon fell in love with the creole sounds of Louisiana & Texas Zydeco music, but being born in a multicultural home, (Mallorcan father and Irish mother) gave them a special sensitivity towards cultural diversity, which led them to also bring their own roots into the music, mixing many styles they love and all the languages that follow.
Their musical journey as The Barceló Brothers started in 2015 solely as a game by playing on the country roads in their townland Carnacrow in Headford, Co. Galway, while slowly sharing some of their performances on social media. In a very short time their outstanding musicianship & artistic sensitivity helped them to attract a constantly growing following on both sides of the Atlantic.
The brothers weave their Mediterranean and Irish heritage into an electrifying mix of Zydeco, Rock, Funk, Ska & Reggae music. Their performances are more than just music— they are a celebration of joy, movement, and human connection.
They have travelled with their music to many festivals and venues in Ireland, UK, Spain and France. They have collaborated and shared the stage with many musicians and bands of different genres.
